Along it’s existence on Earth, humankind generated waves that propagated through spacetime resulting in a signal traveling at the speed of light, throughout the universe.
“Every living being is an engine geared to the wheelwork of the universe. Though seemingly affected only by its immediate surrounding, the sphere of external influence extends to infinite distance.”
The limitations of the human eye stops his travel into the infinity relatively soon. That’s the reason why we developed artificial eyes and ears, that can reach deeper into the unknown; special tools that can investigate what’s out there, perceiving the vibrations of the energy that reaches us.Material, light, movements, all of them generate waves that allow us to understand what is vibrating inside the universe.
It is through the spectrogram that we can see what cannot be perceived through the human senses.
“Spectrum” is an ideal place, somewhere in the universe, that lets us have a taste of the signals we propagate into spacetime. It encodes human beings into signals, then it will let us listen to and feel what might arrive somewhere else in the universe, trying to give us a sense of how complex (and apparently senseless) our vibration is.
The event Spectrum developed by Peninsula takes place in collaboration with transmediale & CTM Vorspiel 2016
and thanks to the support of Horstbrink Immobilien.
