Peninsula in cooperation with Ateliergemeinschaft Milchhof e.V. presents:

Synchronicities

Opening: Friday 6 September from 8pm
Exhibition: 7-22 September (by appointment)
Artist talk: 22 September at 16:00

Pavillon am Milchhof, Schwedter Str. 232, 10435 Berlin

Five years after its foundation, Peninsula presents at Milchhof Pavillon its collective installation Synchronicities.

Synchronicities consists of a sound garden composed of two elements: the sound installation that translates into a series of harmonies the activity carried out by Peninsula from its birth until today and the temporary garden of potted plants lent by the members of the association.

To create the sound installation, each cultural actor who has collaborated with the association was assigned a sound (invited artists = birds chirping, ex Peninsula members = musical note, spaces/institutions = musical chord, invitations = water). Each event realized by Peninsula will therefore be “played”, i.e. the sounds assigned will reflect the relationships between the participants: a given event will create a specific harmony. The current members of Peninsula will be represented by the plants installed in the exhibition space.

Peninsula bases its artistic practice on dialogue and on existing relationships both inside and outside the group as well as on dynamics of interchange with external cultural actors. With Synchronicities, Peninsula thus invites the viewer to stop and listen in a garden made of similarity and diversity.

Special thanks to the Macaulay Library Cornell Lab of Ornithology for the support.
