Berlino: Wunderkammer for Italian Art with Elena Agudio, Mario Mazzoli and Luca Trevisani; moderated by Loris Cecchini

The art historian and curator Elena Agudio, the gallerist Mario Mazzoli and the artist Luca Trevisani, active figures within the panorama of contemporary art in Berlin, will address the theme Berlin: Wunderkammer for Italian Art with moderation by Loris Cecchini – visual artist, co-founder and president of Peninsula. Three artistic professional profiles invited by Peninsula will converse, to explore with the public different and complementary life and work journeys.

Elena Agudio is an independent curator, art historian and writer. She is presently the artistic director of the Association of Neuroaesthetics – (AoN)_Platform for Neuroscience and Art, a project in collaboration with The Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, the Berlin School of Mind and Brain of the Humboldt University and the Institut für Raumexperimente. Since 2013 she is co-director of SAVVY Contemporary, an independent space for contemporary art with the mission of advancing a dialogue between the so-called Western world and countries considered as non-Western.

Mario Mazzoli is a musician and composer. He writes music for multimedia and works on producing short and feature films. In 2009, he founded the Galerie Mario Mazzoli (GMM), a Berlin-based space dedicated to contemporary art specialized in Sound Art. Thanks to Mazzoli’s pioneering idea and under his direction, GMM has become the first commercial gallery primarily dedicated to exploring and promoting the many ways in which sound can be used as an artistic medium.

Luca Trevisani is a visual artist, winner of numerous international awards. Trevisani has exhibited in prestigious museums and contemporary art centers, e.g. MAXXI, Rome; Haus am Waldsee, Berlin; Le Magasin, Grenoble; the Venice Biennial of Architecture; Manifesta 7, Trentino-South Tyrol; Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin. His research ranges from sculpture to moving images, and crosses border disciplines like performing arts, design, experimental cinema and architecture.

The meeting – with free entrance – will be a public interview carried out in Italian and open to questions from the public. Berlin: Wunderkammer for Italian Art is co-organized by Peninsula e.V., the Italian Embassy in Berlin and the Italian Institute of Culture of Berlin.

 

Doors will be open as of 18:40. For security reasons, access will be granted only following previous registration through EVENTBRITE until February 23 at 12:00. Name, forename, date of birth, address and an ID document will be asked. The ID will be requested at the entrance, together with a printout of the Eventbrite ticket. Rucksacks and large bags should be deposited at the wardrobe.
